Pharmacology sources
Every interaction rule starts from FDA Structured Product Labels, DailyMed monographs, peer-reviewed pharmacology, and dermatology consensus guidelines (AAD, AOCD). We never derive an interaction from a single source.
The BlendSafe methodology
BlendSafe is an informational tool, not a diagnostic device. Here's the exact pipeline behind every verdict — sources, review process, severity tiers, and what we do when the literature disagrees.
Every interaction rule starts from FDA Structured Product Labels, DailyMed monographs, peer-reviewed pharmacology, and dermatology consensus guidelines (AAD, AOCD). We never derive an interaction from a single source.
Every HIGH-risk interaction is reviewed and signed off by a licensed pharmacist before it's surfaced to users. MODERATE rows cite at least two independent sources. LOW rows are calibrated against routines real patients actually run.
Severity is recorded in two fields: a coarse `risk_level` (LOW / MODERATE / HIGH) used for routing, and a finer clinical `severity` (1–5) used for the headline verdict. Both are auditable in the admin moderation log.
The catalog refreshes weekly. New FDA labels, retracted studies, and clinician feedback all flow through the same review pipeline — no silent edits.
BlendSafe is an informational tool. It does not replace a consultation with your dermatologist, OB-GYN, or pharmacist. If a verdict suggests AVOID for a product you depend on, talk to a clinician before making any change to your medication or routine.
